Maintenance for your helicopter

Helicopter maintenance for owners and operators.

An A&P shop at McCall Municipal Airport for helicopter owners and operators across Idaho and the Northwest: scheduled inspections, unscheduled repair, component tracking, avionics, field and AOG support and full aircraft management. We keep our own fleet here too, which is why we know what your downtime costs.

Why bring it here

A shop that also flies understands downtime.

Most helicopter shops only maintain. We also operate, so we know what a grounded aircraft costs on the revenue side, because we pay it ourselves. That changes how the shop behaves: estimates are honest, parts are chased early, and your aircraft is not kept a day longer than the work needs.

Your helicopter gets the same mechanics, the same standards and the same place in the schedule as our own fleet. Private owners, commercial operators who need a serviceable ship for the season, agencies and the occasional buyer who wants a pre-purchase inspection all bring aircraft here, and we would like that to be the reason you call us.

The founder is an A&P mechanic as well as a commercial pilot, so the person you talk to about your aircraft is someone who has felt the defect you are describing from the front seat.

  • Licensed A&P mechanics, hangar at McCall Municipal Airport
  • Private owners and commercial operators welcome
  • Honest estimates before any work starts
  • Maintenance planned around your season, not ours
What the shop does

Six areas of work
for your aircraft.

Scheduled inspections

Calendar and hourly inspections carried out to the manufacturer's programme, planned around your flying rather than around our convenience.

  • Manufacturer-programme inspections
  • Airworthiness directive compliance
  • Service bulletin review and action
  • Planned around your season

Unscheduled & defect repair

The work nobody planned for. Damage assessment, troubleshooting and repair, with an honest estimate of what it will take before we start.

  • Troubleshooting and fault isolation
  • Damage assessment and repair
  • Sheet-metal and structural work
  • Parts sourcing and expediting

Component & overhaul management

Life-limited parts, overhaul intervals and component histories tracked properly, so nothing expensive is discovered the week before your season starts.

  • Life-limited component tracking
  • Overhaul scheduling and coordination
  • Component removal, shipping and install
  • Records reconciliation

Avionics & instruments

Panel work, instrument replacement, harness repair, mission-equipment installation and everything that follows on the paperwork side.

  • Panel upgrades and instrument work
  • Harness and wiring repair
  • Mission-equipment installation
  • Approvals and documentation

Field & AOG support

An aircraft down at a remote site is a different problem to one in the hangar. We can come to it, and we know what the road in looks like.

  • Field troubleshooting and repair
  • Remote-site support
  • Recovery planning and coordination
  • Support during your project work

Records & aircraft management

Logbooks, compliance status, inspection forecasting and the full aircraft-management service for owners who would rather not think about any of this.

  • Logbook and records management
  • Compliance status and forecasting
  • Pre-purchase inspection support
  • Full aircraft management
Who we work for

Three kinds of owner,
one way of working.

For private owners

  • Annual and hourly inspections to the manufacturer's programme
  • Airworthiness directive and service bulletin compliance
  • A plain condition report, not a surprise invoice
  • Pre-purchase inspections and records review for buyers
  • Logbooks kept the way a future buyer will want to see them

For commercial operators

  • Maintenance planned around your contracts and season
  • Field and AOG support during project work
  • Component forecasting, so August is not a surprise
  • Your aircraft scheduled alongside ours, not behind it
  • Direct access to the person doing the work

What we will tell you

  • When something is not worth repairing
  • When the part is going to be the long pole
  • When another shop is better placed for the job
  • When an estimate has moved and why
  • When the aircraft is not ready, even if it is inconvenient
How work runs

From the aircraft arriving
to the logbook entry.

01

Intake & assessmentDay one

Aircraft looked at, records reviewed, discrepancies listed. You get the list before anybody starts turning wrenches on it.

02

Scope & estimateBefore work starts

What is required, what is recommended and what can wait, separated, priced and explained. The recommended and the required are never quietly merged into one number.

03

Parts & planningLong pole first

Parts availability drives the schedule more than labour does. We order early and tell you honestly when a component is going to hold everything up.

04

The workDocumented

Carried out and recorded as it goes. Where we find something additional, you hear about it when we find it, not in the final invoice.

05

Inspection & sign-offBefore release

Independent check, functional test, ground and flight checks as applicable, records completed and entries made.

06

HandoverWith the paperwork

The aircraft, the logbook entries, the parts documentation and a plain-language summary of what was done and what is coming up next.

Aircraft management

Hand over as much
as you want to.

Some owners want a shop. Some want the whole thing to disappear from their calendar. Aircraft management covers the maintenance programme, records, compliance forecasting, component tracking and coordination of everything that follows.

What that costs depends on the aircraft, the utilisation and how much you want to keep hold of. Tell us which parts you want back and we will price it around that.

Questions

What owners and
operators ask first.

Yes, and we would like that to be the reason you call. The shop is open to private owners, commercial operators and agencies, and being an operator ourselves is useful to those clients: we know what a maintenance decision costs on the revenue side, because we pay it too.

Ask us directly with your make, model and the work you need. Capability varies by type and by the specific job, and we would rather tell you plainly that something is outside what we do than take the aircraft and find out.

Yes, and for project clients this is often the point. Having maintenance able to come to the aircraft is the difference between a lost afternoon and a lost week.

Sourced transparently and passed through with the documentation. If there is a serviceable alternative to a new part, or an overhauled unit that makes more sense, you get told about it rather than just billed for the expensive option.

Yes: maintenance, records, compliance forecasting, and coordinating the whole thing for owners who do not want to run it themselves. Tell us how much of it you want to hand over.
